Dreamcatchers

With her motorized objects, Rebecca Horn hypnotizes the viewer as he waits for the fatal contact. But the Other is only lightly touched: a frightened flap of wings, an undisciplined ink jet, an irregular pendulum. The expectation: pleasure and desire at once sensuous and mechanical.

Here is the vulnerability of the being at its most sensitive point. Balance may be broken at any moment. Fragility may be assumed. Internal tension may hide a great silent force.

As he waits, the viewer finds himself thinking about himself, testing his imagination, seeing his desires.
