The disorders of sense and perception dominate my work, in relation to various locations - hospital, museum, apartment - but always social locations... Art must take its distance from the usual sites of creation or exhibition, move and become part of oureveryday. We must give artists the possibility to draw inspiration from a neighborhood or a building, and give them the time to be impregnated by it, to meet the people who live or work there...

Claude Lévêque, quoted by Richard Gonzalez, in Le Petit Bulletin, no. 198, March 4 to 11, 1998.
